Representing the upper echelon of the hospitality industry, AAA Five and Four Diamond Award winners make up just 3.0 percent and 0.28 percent, respectively, of the 58,000 Diamond Rated lodgings and restaurants throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.  “Five and Four Diamond lodgings and hotels represent the best the hospitality industry has to offer,” said Martha M. Meade, Manager of Public and Government Affairs for AAA Mid-Atlantic. “These properties are extraordinary in every manner. Lodgings at this level offer guests a wide range of amenities and services, and restaurants feature a distinctive fine dining experience and complex menus. We are pleased that so many establishments in our area have reached this level of service, and we are honored to present them with the Five and Four Diamond Award designation for 2009.”

All properties must first meet AAA’s rigorous requirements to become AAA Approved® establishments. AAA’s Diamond Rating System is the only ratings system that covers all of North America and one of only two that conducts physical, on-site evaluations. AAA evaluates more properties than any other rating entity. Additionally, AAA provides travelers the opportunity to post comments about their experiences at AAA Approved and Diamond Rated establishments at AAA.com.
